Tennis at The Woods
Court hours: all courts are closed:
1)Mondays (Tuesdays when Monday is a holiday) and
2) When the courts are too wet or damaged for play.
Courts 1-4, 7 & 8 are open from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM; courts 5 & 6 are open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, all courts are open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The courts will be closed whenever they need to be resurfaced or repaired. Shutdown time per court will be determined by current conditions. General rules are as follows:
Courts may be reserved in advance unless a special event is scheduled through the Woods office.
- Each resident may bring up to three guests to play on one court. Residents must accompany their guests.
- No resident may reserve more than one court per day in advance. After the game represented by the first reservation is completed, another reservation may be made if courts are available.
- In a group of four doubles players, two or more players must be changed in advance reservations. Two courts may not switch players for consecutive reservations.
- Players who switch courts to join other matches must notify the office.
- Court reservations are automatically void if you’re more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled court.
- Courts used for doubles may be reserved for two hours, singles for 1-½ hours.
- No player should ever play on wet or damp courts or those with “No play” signs on them. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in loss of playing privileges.
- Proper tennis attire is required. Cut-off shirts or shorts, tank tops and swimsuits are unacceptable. Shirts must be worn at all times.
- Smooth-soled tennis shoes must be worn at all times. No jogging, track, basketball, soccer or football shoes are allowed on the courts.
- Vulgar, loud or abusive language is prohibited; there will be no racquet-throwing, indiscriminate ball smashing or net abuse.
- League-sponsored events and team matches will be given priority in reservations. It may occasionally be necessary to reserve all eight courts for major league events.
- No pets allowed on the courts.
- No roller balding, roller skating, skate boarding or bike riding on the courts.
